Jade Pixiu Hulu Necklace

Two charms in one carving: the pixiu, and the hulu gourd beneath it.

The pixiu is the winged creature of Chinese myth with an appetite for gold and no way to pass it, so what it takes in, it keeps. The hulu does the same for health.

Put together they make a piece about holding what you have gathered rather than only attracting more, which is why it suits someone a few years into building something rather than someone starting out.

Placement: worn with the pixiu facing outward, away from the body.
