Cinnabar is the fire-red stone of the Chinese tradition, long worn to guard vitality and keep good fortune close. Its colour alone was considered protective, the red that meets whatever the day brings.
The Ox stands for patient strength, fortune built slowly, held firmly, and the steadiness that outlasts every storm. It is the guardian sign of those born in 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009 and 2021.
On the back sits Akasagarbha (虚空藏菩萨), the guardian Buddha of the Ox among the eight zodiac protectors, keeper of wisdom and treasure as boundless as the open sky.
